Can AI Really Save Time? I Tested It for a Week
We all want more time in our day — whether it's to study, work, or just relax. You've probably heard people say "AI tools save time", but do they really? To find out, I tested a few smart tools over one week to see if AI actually made a difference in my daily routine.
Here’s exactly what happened — and what you can learn from it.
Day 1: Planning with AI – My Smart To-Do List
I started by using Notion AI and Google Tasks with AI integrations to plan my day.
-
Tasks were organized based on importance.
-
AI gave time estimates for each task.
-
I added my study, chores, blog writing, and free time.
Result: I saved 30 minutes just by avoiding task-switching and confusion.
Day 2: Email Replies with ChatGPT
Replying to emails used to take me 45 minutes. I copied my emails into ChatGPT and asked for polite responses — then edited them in my tone.
Result: Replies were ready in 10 minutes.
I saved 35 minutes — and felt way less stressed.
Day 3–4: Studying with AI Tools
I used Quillbot, Grammarly, and YouTube Summary AI to:
-
Summarize long YouTube lectures.
-
Rewrite my notes in simple language.
-
Check grammar in essays instantly.
Result: I finished a 2-hour study task in 1 hour!
Day 5: Grocery + Budgeting Help
I used AnyList and PriceOye with AI to create a grocery list and track price drops on essentials.
-
AI suggested what I might need based on past lists.
-
PriceOye alerted me to discounts on items I was eyeing.
Result: Shopping was 50% faster and I avoided unnecessary buys.
Day 6: Writing a Blog Post Faster
I used ChatGPT for outlines, Grammarly for editing, and Canva with Magic Write to speed up visuals and design.
Result: Blog post that took me 4 hours was done in 1.5 hours — with better quality!
Day 7: AI for Relaxation & Sleep
Tried Calm app with AI suggestions for meditation and Sleep Cycle to track patterns.
-
AI adjusted my wind-down routine.
-
Recommended sleep time based on usage and mood.
Result: I slept better and woke up fresher.
Did AI Save Time?
YES — absolutely.
Across 7 days, I saved around 8–10 hours total just by letting smart tools handle small repetitive tasks. Even better? I had more energy and mental focus for the things that mattered.
Final Thought
You don’t have to be a tech genius to use AI. Just start small — let one tool help you with one task. Once you see how much time you save, you’ll never go back.
